Third Annual Phyllis W. Meadow Award for Excellence in Psychoanalytic Writing

The 2008 Phyllis W. Meadow Award for Excellence in Psychoanalytic Writing has been awarded to Jonathan E. Dunn, PhD, for his paper "The
Foundational Wisdom in Freud's and Loewald's Metapsychology."

The Honorable mentions, who will each receive $500, include recent CMPS graduate Josie Oppenheim for her "The Magic of Adoption: A Consideration of the Preoedipal Genesis of the Family Romance;" Marilyn Charles, PhD, for her paper "When Cultures Collide: Myth, Meaning, and Configural Space;" and David Greven, PhD, for his "Rereading Narcissism: Freud's Theory of Male Homosexuality and Hawthorne's 'Gentle Boy.'" Jennifer Wade, Chair of the Meadow Award, and the Meadow Award judges were impressed with the quality of this year's submissions and thank all who gave us the opportunity to consider their work.

The winners will be honored at the CMPS fall conference "Sex and the Psyche"on December 6th at Lycee Francais at 74th and York Avenue on the Upper East Side.
