MAY 15th, “Groundhog Day” In this 1993 comedy,
Bill Murray plays a narcissistic weather reporter who
is isolated from meaningful relationships. The film
cleverly portrays the character’s defenses, repetition
compulsion, omnipotence, and movement to the depressive position as he reaches more mature functioning. Ms Musolino will
suggest parallels to changes that occur in psychoanalytic process.
Angela Musolino, MSN, LP, CMPS & NYGSP faculty member, Administrative Director
of the CMPS Consultation & Referral Service, and Editor of the SMP Analyst.
